A Partial Hospitalization Program is a full-day outpatient mental health and addiction level of care. Clients attend structured therapy, skills groups, and psychiatric support during the day, then return home or to sober living at night — without a hospital bed.
At Rize OC, PHP is often used after detox or residential treatment, after a relapse at a lower level of care, or when weekly therapy cannot keep symptoms stable. It is more intensive than IOP in Orange County and less restrictive than inpatient hospitalization when home evenings are safe.

When should I go to an IOP?
Choose IOP when you need structured multi-session care each week but can safely live at home and keep key responsibilities. IOP is a common step-down from PHP and a step-up from standard weekly outpatient therapy.
Rize OC offers morning and evening tracks so many clients continue work or school. IOP may include group therapy, individual therapy, and psychiatric support when clinically appropriate. If withdrawal risk, active psychosis, or an unsafe home environment is present, a higher level of care comes first.

Does Medi-Cal cover IOP in California?
Medi-Cal coverage for IOP in California depends on your county plan, medical necessity criteria, and which providers are contracted. Rules differ by managed care plan and can change.
Rize OC currently does not accept Medi-Cal or Medicaid. We cannot claim that Medi-Cal will cover IOP or PHP at this facility. We do work with many commercial PPO plans and verify those benefits free of charge.
