About This Program

Addiction Recovery Support, Delivered Virtually

Virtual addiction treatment has expanded in recent years. For adults who do not require medical detox or 24-hour residential structure, research suggests telehealth-delivered IOP and outpatient care can be a good fit when clinical suitability, engagement, and safety align. Outcomes are not guaranteed and depend on individual circumstances.

Rize OC's virtual addiction program may include individual therapy (motivational interviewing, CBT for substance use, contingency management), group therapy covering relapse prevention and recovery skills, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) support and monitoring when appropriate, and co-occurring mental health treatment — delivered via a secure, HIPAA-oriented platform.

Virtual addiction treatment is not appropriate for everyone. Individuals who require medical detox, who are at high relapse risk without dense structure, or who have severe co-occurring psychiatric conditions may need a medically supervised detox pathway or higher-intensity in-person care first. Our assessment team helps determine the right level of care for your situation.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

For individuals with mild to moderate substance use disorders who do not require medical detox or 24/7 structure, research supports virtual IOP and outpatient as producing outcomes comparable to in-person programs for well-selected clients. Fit depends on clinical suitability (ASAM-aligned placement), engagement, and safety — not the delivery format alone. Outcomes are not guaranteed.

In many cases, yes for eligible adults in California. Buprenorphine can often be initiated and managed via telehealth under current regulations. Injectable naltrexone may require coordination at a local clinical site. Exact options depend on clinical assessment, prescribing rules, and pharmacy access — never start or stop MAT without medical guidance.

Our virtual program may address alcohol use disorder, opioid use disorder (with MAT support when appropriate), stimulant use disorder, cannabis use disorder, and polysubstance patterns for clients who are medically stable. We do not deliver virtual medical detox for alcohol or benzodiazepines — those withdrawals can be medically dangerous and need supervised detox pathways first.

Many major commercial PPO plans cover virtual addiction treatment under substance use and mental health parity provisions when medical necessity criteria are met. Coverage is not guaranteed. Our team verifies benefits before you begin. We do not accept Medi-Cal or Medicaid.
